No, obtaining your permit is part of the teen driver's education program. After the first 6 hours of course instruction, teens are eligible to take the written exam to obtain their learners license.
Adult driver's may register for driving instruction after a restricted license has been earned. If the student is under the age of 25, a six hour driver's education course must be completed.
The complete teen driver's program usually takes 6-8 months to complete. The online course may be completed within a week or longer depending on the student's availability. Once the 24 hour course is completed, behind the wheel instruction can begin. Behind the wheel courses are spaced out to allow the student time to practice at home with a qualified adult.

Yes — you can take your road test with us in a comfortable, low-stress environment without waiting at the DPS.
Yes, as long as it meets all safety requirements and is insured. Driving school vehicles are available for road tests for an additional fee.
